TSD MEMORIES

you know that GWEN STEFANI song 4 in the morning? WELL good mornin' everybody, while all y'all are sleepin i'mma stuck by my insomnia that's plagued me for as long as ive been an adolescnt. recently, the song stuck in my head is from another blond who's into fitness and married to a relatively quieter husband.
but this blond is none other than MADONNA, whos amazing incarnations never fail to impress.
4 minutes is this year's CRAZYSEXYCOOL amazing as hell song, very danceable and the truth is madonna is just good at marketing herself. and i guess that's what sells: sellability. (no such word)
her entire discography. i htink with madonna she really puts the disco in discography man. very iconic albums there...like a virgin, confessions, the immaculate collection...and the list goes on. recently having hit her record breaking 37th UK top 40 hit (she rules UK but mariah rules the US haha)... madonna decided to....

give a FREE CONCERT. yep. the only catch was having to line up. sadly, the material girl did NOT return the london love, choosing instead to give a banging concert in the iconic NYC. fair enough, since she lives in london already i guess. YES FREE, along with special guest justin timberlake. 2 for the price of one--certainly worth the wait for many lucky concertgoers. all 2000 of them. who had patiently waited in line.
FOR SIXTY HOURS PEOPLE.

and her may madness...on 3 magazine covers all at once! ive always wondered how these agents get their celeb clients on the magazine covers...the celeb wants publicity at the right time, and magazines also need to make sure they sell as many copies as possible..and the cachet of a magazine and a megawatt star are not alwys congruent! but that's another whole world.

the world of fashion, that is. and while on the topic of being inimitable...
another person i really look up to is NICHOLAS GHESQUIRE. yes, he of crazy florals, ridiculous stiching and meticulous couture. and AHHH how can we forget. all those lovely lovely motorcycle bags. Thank you Mr Ghesquire, for being a genius and for letting balenciaga hire you!
not sure if you know this, but the SPORTILETTO gained alot of publicity when it was featured 2 seasons ago. i personally wasn't a fan, BUT when 2 seasons later, (IE NOW>...) STEVE MADDEN madddeningly (hurhur) released this poor and obvious copy of the shoe, i flipped. this is blatant infringement of copyright! and it doesnt take a law or fashion genius to know. the colors, the material...but really. all that aside,
i still maintain that the balenciaga one (on the left) is OBVIOUSLY superiour in its construction. it is truly a bulkier version yes...but essentailly still retaining the shape of a STILETTO.
madden's version on the other hand, is clumsy and with its round-toe, not very practical at all. the buckle closure is also looking extremely uncomfortable for any wearer...IF there are any.

and well. one last realm of aartistry...music, fashion and ART. yea.
art is something i dont talk about much, mainly because while i can appreciate it, i dont think my comments on great artists is worth very much. however, i have, for more than 4 years now, been a big art fan. i love museums and was VERY LUCKY to have had the privilege of visiting...
THE GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM. (gasp).
yes, the allfamous guggenheim. the men-in-black guggenheim. (its ok, most people didnt know they filmed in the guggenheim) im tired of saying guggenheim. SO. anyways. and other fabled museums which i will not detail here.
Large Interior, Los Angeles
by DAVID HOCKNEY
this will be hanging, large and framed and gorgeous, in my room by the end of the month! i remember picking this print out at the metropolitan museum of art with my parents. and that was YEARS AGO. i was barely into my teens, but i was immediately drawn to the vivid strokes and bright colors in the work. also, having an interest in architecture (more light and proportions), the dimensions he created in this work are truly intriguing.
hockney is one of the foremost artists in the POP ART movement. if you are a warhol fan, my heart does slightly weep for you. most warhol fans are "fans" because their only exposure to art or pop art is warhol. but he did much more than that...maybe you should catch sienna miller in FACTORY GIRL if its ever released.
hockney, wesselman and leichtenstein are, to me, the great MAsters of that movement. but of course, like all band frontmen, warhol the wild child was the poster child. talented of course. but too overrated in a way that one of the very founding fathers of pop art would be revolted to see himself being absorbed into the very culture he sought to satirize.

sorry for wordiness! am passionate about certain things.
also, YES AM STILL HAVING EXAMS IF YOU ARE WONDERING. the WELL WISHES ARE APRECIATED ALTHOU THE QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW PAPERS ARE, ARE NOT SO WELCOME. NEITHER ARE THE INCESSANT "WHAT TO DO FOR LAW INTERVIEW PREP AH???" QUERIES. UNLESS YOU ARE A FRIEND IN THE SENSE THAT I REGULARLY INTERACT WITH YOU, AND NOT ON A ONE-OFF BASIS JUST COS YOU NEED MY HELP, PLSKTHX.
EVERYONE ELSE, HANG TOUGH!
cheers!
